Didgeridoo Down Under at the library!

Didgeridoo Down Under will entertain the kids with an authentic and interesting Australian show this coming Wednesday, June 26th! The program will be in the gym at 1PM. Please come and join the fun!

The DDU Show is a high-energy, Australia-themed program that combines music, puppetry, comedy, environmental education, character building and audience participation. The didgeridoo has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1,500 years. But DDU is much more than music — it’s interactive, educational and super fun … a one-of-a-kind musical & cultural experience for all ages!

This program is part of our Dig Into Reading programs this summer for the kids. There is a free program each Wednesday at 1PM for the kids. Children will also be awarded a prize each week if they read something and record their reading on the program web site-

e-Reader and Zinio Workshop July 1st!

Why load your luggage with books & magazines when you can just download them to your e-reader? Learn to download e-books to your Kindle, Nook, iPad, or other devices and learn how to download your favorite magazines with Zinio!

There will be an e-Reader workshop July 1st (a Monday) at 3PM at the Aston Public Library!

Rich Coogan from Delaware County Library System will provide assistance and answer your questions about downloading books and magazines to your digital device. Bring your digital device and your library card.

New York Life Free Child ID Event at the Library!

Get an ID card for your child and teach your child about safety, Wednesday, June 26th, 2013 at 2PM (after the Didgeridoo Down Under program) at the Aston Library!

This FREE program is family friendly and fun. Children are digitally fingerprinted and photographed to make ID cards that are given to parents. In the event of an emergency the parents have the child’s photo, fingerprints, and other pertinent information needed by the police. Designed to help children of our community stay safe. There is no cost for families to participate.

Kids’ Bingo Night at the library!

Aston Public Library will host a children’s bingo night on Monday, June 24th, 2013. This event is free and open to the public. Children of all ages are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

A perfect outing for the whole family, bingo night awards children prizes like free library DVD rentals and small toys.

Bingo runs from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and is held in the community room. Registration is required.
