Reduce the risk of falls with this in-depth look at balance and falls prevention.. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a free falls screening.  Presented in partnership with Kinetic Physical Therapy. Registration Required

A Vegan Feast with Lydia Tuesday May 14, 6:30 – 7:30pm Come join plant based cook, Lydia Kendis, as we make a delicious vegan feast –  summer rolls with a delicious “peanut” dipping sauce & the creamiest ice cream made from bananas for dessert!

Bonfire of the Ballet Girls, Tuesday June 11 6:00 – 7:00pm

In the 19th century, the symbol of grace and beauty was the ballerina, in her gauzy white costume; meanwhile, the height of modernity on stage was gas illumination. The combination of the two could sometimes spell disaster for the ballerina, the theater, and the audience.  If you like your history a little on the dark side, please  join us for this lecture presented by the Chester County History Center. Registration Required Here.

FOR KIDS:

Longwood Gardens Community Read: Secret Gardens Murals

During Spring Break, we made murals inspired by The Secret Garden. All month long, library patrons can help these gardens “grow” by adding to them. Beginning April 1, we will be drawing BUGS! Coloring supplies are available in the Children’s Area.

The Circle of You (Resilience, Connection & Affirmations) Tuesdays 6-7pm, 4/15 – 5/7

For children in grades 2-4, this 4-week series aims to nurture a strong sense of self in children while promoting growth, resilience and connection to others. Activities will include journaling & practicing positive affirmations within small groups. Program will be led by Kerri Margera, who is a local parent, healthcare worker & Widener student. Registration is required

Lego Day Saturday 4/20, 1-4pm

Drop in & build anything you can imagine! No registration required. Open to kids of all ages, but adult supervision is required.

Jitterbugs Music & Movement Wednesday, 4/24 10:30am – A play-based music experience featuring instruments, dancing & more.  Registration is required. For ages 1 – 6.  This will be in place of Storytime.

Jitterbugs Yoga Adventure Saturday, 4/27 10:30am – Go on a storytelling adventure with Jitterbugs! We will do a warm-up, yoga adventure & relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat or beach towel. For ages 3-12. Registration is required.

Weekly Drop-In Events

Tuesday Building Club Tuesdays 4-7pm – No registration required, drop in & stay as long as you’d like! Open to kids of all ages, but adult supervision is required.

Infant/Toddler Storytime
 (ages 2 & under) – Wednesdays at 10:30am
Preschool Storytime (ages 3 – 5) – Thursdays at 10:30

Beginning in April, Ms. Raven will be leading BOTH storytimes. Don’t worry Ms. Amy will still be here, just doing other activities.

Aston Public Library’s Annual Bookmark Contest has begun for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade. Entry forms are available at the library & on our website. All entries are due by April 30.

35th Annual Young Poets of Delaware County Poetry Competition This is a county-wide competition for kids in grades 1 – 12. Complete details here
