ASTON LIBRARY NEWS–

Saturday March 21st from 6:00 PM  to  9:00 PM the Friends of the Aston Public Library will present Spring Bingo!  Doors open at 4:30 PM.  Admission is $25.  All prizes will be in cash!  Food and refreshments will be sold as well as bingo supplies.  There will also be special raffles!  All proceeds benefit the library!  There will also be special games, food, and bingo supplies sold. 

“Eyes of the Wild and Wallaby Tales” visits the library Thursday, March 19th at 6:30PM. Mammals from around the world will be featured in this program. Behaviors, habitats, adaptations, survival strategies and  relationships with humans will be introduced. This program focuses on behavior and adaptation using the life stories of each unique animal, their often humorous personality, fun facts, anecdotes and animal eye-views as instruction.

Test-drive the new voting machines that will be used in Delaware County starting this year!  The County will have a voting machine in our library for demonstration on Thursday, March 26th from 10AM to 1PM.
Our free Chair Zumba class meets Tuesdays at 2PM this month.  Chair Zumba is a gentle form of the Zumba exercise program, using a chair for support.  It is accessible to all ages and genders.

Your child could win a prize in our March coloring contest!  Pick up an entry form at the library service desk.

Join the Aston Library Book Club Thursday March 12th at 1:30PM to discuss ” Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine “.  The club meets each month to discuss a book chosen by the group.

Storytime!  Your young child can learn basic literacy skills while having fun!  The Aston Public Library offers story times every week, open to everyone! Join Ms. Debbie for toddler time (ages 2-3) on Tuesdays at 10:30, infant time (up to 24 months) on Wednesdays at 10:30, and preschool time (ages 3-5) on Thursdays at 10:30!
 
The Kids Can Build Club is at the Library on Tuesdays at 4PM  !  Your child can learn to build things using the library’s Lego collection and other materials as well!   All ages are welcome.
 
Need help with an e-book reader, laptop or tablet computer?  Stop by for our drop-in help time on Friday mornings.  10AM is the time for ebook readers.  11AM is the time for laptops and tablets.
 
Join our Mah Jongg group!  Learn to play the American version of Mah Jongg on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm at the Library.  Game pieces are provided.
 
On Friday, March 20th at 11AM, the Movie Group will be viewing and discussing the movie ” Dark Waters “.  There will be a free light lunch provided.

Do you want to be an artist? Email debbie@astonlibrary.org and she will put you on the list for our regular Adult Painting Classes.  We have them at least once every month.
 
Stop by Tuesdays at 11AM to learn the art of Crochet with our diverse group with many levels of experience.   Stop by Thursdays at 6PM to participate in a wide variety of crafts with an even more diverse group.

The Aston Public Library Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, March 17th, 7PM at the Library.
