June 29 – Puppets Pizzazz

Puppets Pizzazz at Aston Public Library
Wednesday, June 29 at 1 PM

Following their successful presentation in January, Aston Library brings back Puppets Pizzazz with a brand new show for summer: “Get Ready, Get Set, READ!” Puppets Pizzazz has successfully entertained children of all ages for over twenty-six years. The Puppets Pizzazz show is full of sing-a-longs, slap stick humor, audience participation, and dancing. Everyone will be tapping and singing along to our satirical versions of songs by artists such as Disney, Neil Diamond, Meghan Trainor, LMFAO, Carley Rae Jepson, Pharrell Williams, Pit bull, Black Eyed Peas, Neon Trees, Maroon Five, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift to name a few! This free program is part of our “On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!” summer programs for the kids. There is a free program each Wednesday at 1PM for the kids. Children will also be awarded a prize each week if they read something and record their reading on the program web site- http://tinyurl.com/AstonSRP16

Design Your Own Superhero Contest!

The Library is holding a Design Your Own Superhero Contest for its young patrons! Kids of all ages are eligible.

Click here for an entry form (.PDF file)

Entry forms can also be picked up at the Library.

Just bring your child’s entry (with the child’s information on the back) to the library’s service desk by August 10th to be considered. Winners of the contest will have their entries displayed at the Library.

Marshall Steam Museum: Railroad Heroes program at the library!

Marshall Steam Museum: Railroad Heroes will be visiting Aston Public Library on Thursday June 25, 2015 at 10:30AM to present a special kids program “Railroad Heroes”!

During this program the kids will hear a story about the legendary John Henry. After the story, they will learn about building railroad tracks through an interactive activity and discover how tracks keep trains operating safely. For children ages 3-8 years!

Summer Reading Club Preview Party on the 27th!

Is your child excited about the summer programs and books at the Library? Bring him or her to a special Preview Party 3:45PM on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Aston Public Library! “Every Hero Has a Story” is the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Club at the Aston Public Library!

Summer Reading Club starts June 17th! Come find out how to earn books and prizes during the summer. Pre-readers can come, too. Party is for all ages. There will be games, songs, crafts, read aloud and snacks.

Summer Programs will be at American Legion Hall

The Summer Wednesday programs for the kids will be held at the American Legion Hall at 3220 Concord Rd (just a few buildings down from us on Concord) until further notice due to a problem with the air conditioning in the gymnasium of our building.

Thanks so much to the American Legion for donating the use of their Hall to help us out when we needed it!
