The Aston Public Library is hosting a Halloween storytime on Thursday, October 31 at 10:30 am. Ms. Joanne will be reading Curious George Goes to a Costume Party by Margret and H.A. Rey. In observance of October being Mental Health Month, the library is hosting a display from the Delco chapter of NAMI. This display features information about mental illness and books that are being donated to the library from NAMI. The books featured will be added to the library collection at the end of the month.
NAMI-PA Delaware County Chapter is a grass-roots, self-help, support and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with severe mental illnesses – which are brain disorders – and their families. Severe mental illnesses include Schizophrenia, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Panic and Other Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders and Severe Disorders of Children and Adolescents

The Aston Public Library is hosting a Halloween Safety Story Time on both October 15th (a Tuesday) and 17th (a Thursday) at 10:30AM . The Aston Public Library is proud to welcome Officer Thomas Giancristoforo of the Aston Police as the guest! He will be talking to the kids about Halloween safety. Ms. Joanne will be reading the book, Keeping You Safe by Ann Owen. Each child will receive a special bag including glow stick and other items. This storytime is for ages 2-6. Ed Schmitt will entertain the kids with a spooky magic show Monday, October 21st! The program will be in the gym at 6:30PM. Please come and join the fun!
Ed Schmitt is an Awarding Winning Children’s magician from the Delaware Valley. His Halloween Magic Show is designed for Boys and Ghouls of all ages. Themed around Halloween, the show includes Ghosts, Vampires, Frankenstein and special appearances by “Jacko the Jack-o-Lantern of Mystery”. The show uses Music, Magic, Comedy, Live Animals and Lots of Audience Participation to create an enjoyable experience for the whole family.
