Curling Nationals Storytime at Ice Works!

On Saturday February 22nd at 10AM, The Aston Public Library and Ice Works will present a reading and signing of the book Trefor: The Curling Rock with author Kim Perkins for area children to promote reading and celebrate the U.S. Curling Nationals in Aston. The book is the story of a rock searching for a sport he can play. Activities will also be offered for the children at the event, including the opportunity for each child to color his or her own curling rock for display at the rink!

Ms. Perkins will also be signing copies of her book, and copies of the book will be available for sale.

The program will be held at Ice Works, 3100 Dutton Mill Road in Aston.

Free Federal and State Income Tax Prep at the Library!

The Aston Public Library will host free Federal and State Income Tax preparation services from PathwaysPA on February 6th (a Thursday) in the morning and March 17th (a Monday) throughout the day. Families or single persons with income below $51,000 per year are eligible for the free filing assistance. What’s offered includes:

  • Certified tax preparers to maximize your refund
  • Free e-filing of federal and state returns
  • Fast refunds through direct deposit to bank or prepaid debit card accounts
  • US Savings bonds can be purchased by checking a box on your tax form

APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED. Call 610-494-5877 to make an appointment today. All filers must bring documentation to their appointment. Call the library for more information about required documentation, or stop by and pick up a sheet listing the documentation.
